Curriculum Railway Tour

Enjoy a 2-days walking tour to explore the Irkutsk city, 1 day tour to museum of Russian Architecture –Talci, 1 day tour on Curriculum Baikal Railway (train or boat) and 2-days walking tour to the pearl of Siberia – Lake Baikal. You will visit the best places of Irkutsk and a beautiful village on the shore of Baikal – Listwyanka.

Tour consists of 2 excursions around Irkutsk city (Entrance fees to all museum are included in price), 2 excursions in Lake Baikal (Cherskyi rock, Great Baikal Trail, Baikal Nerpa Museum, Baikal Museum), 1-day-tour to Talci Museum and 1-day-tour on Baikal Curriculum Railway

Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival in Irkutsk you’ll be met by your guide at the airport and transferred to our comfortable hotel (standard rooms, DBL/TWN). You’ll have some spare time to relax after check-in.

13:00-14:00 Enjoy Russian cuisine for lunch and go sightseeing. Irkutsk have a lot of interesting places to visit!

Today City Tour including a visit to the Cathedral of the Holy Sign. Apart from ornate and rich iconostasis, the cathedral is famous for its graveyard where you will see the graves of the Decembrists Mukhanov, Beschasnov, Trubetskaya and the Russian Columbus Shelekhov. We will then proceed to the Museum of the Decembrists. The museum is housed in a mansion belonging to one of the leaders of Decembrist revolutionaries - these were Russian aristocracy who were banished to Siberia after their ill-fated attempt in December 1825 to overthrow the Russian Tsar in favor of a Constitutional regime. The museum really gives off an aura of 18th century Russia.

Day 2

Your day will start with breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Today we will visit Kirov’s square, district of the Irkutsk city, located in the historic center between Lenin and Sukhe-Bator streets; the main square of Irkutsk. Monument to Alexander III, The figure of the russian emperor that was placed here in honor of the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway. And also we will visit 130th District (Siberia’s most impressive original timber architecture) and it’s Sculpture Babr.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, you will head to Taltsy - an open air Museum of Siberian Wooden Architecture. The museum´s oldest buildings are the Spass Tower of the Ilimsk Fortress (1667) and the still active Kazan Chapel (1679).

We will have a lunch there and about 17:00-18:00 go back to Irkutsk.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 Baikal Curriculum Railway tour!

19:00 Transfer to Listwyanka.

Overnight in Listvyanka.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today you will take a trip by cable road to the Chersky Rock observation platform to enjoy a spectacular view of the Lake Baikal. If it is clear enough you will also see the Khamar-Daban mountain range on the opposite shore of the lake.

Overnight in Listvyanka.

Day 6

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today we will discover The Great Baikal Trail! Having a lunch on Baikal’s rocks and then go back to Listvyanka.

Overnight in Listvyanka.

Day 7

Early breakfast (or not, it depends on your plans) and departure from Listvyanka. Trip back to Irkutsk (we will deliver you to the airport or train station; upon request we can arrange extra night at our hotel in Irkutsk).
